Desert Born Egg Pendant

22K & 18K yellow gold, lapis lazuli, turquoise, blue tourmaline, blue zircon

This is a remarkable piece of 3 dimensional inlaid stonework which feels very much like a desert borne Faberge egg. Pieces of interlocking lapis lazuli and turquoise wrap around the 2 forward sides. On the back is a mosaic stone frame surrounding an enclosed niche of 18K gold. The bail is set with a cabochon blue tourmaline that actually hinges open so the pendant can be attached to a strand of large pearls or stone beads. The piece is finished with a triangular faceted blue zircon.

This piece can also be worn as a pendant on a German gold snake chain.
