'Tis The Gold•en Season
Works from the hands of our legendary artists.
The luster of Santa Fe during the holidays inspires our search for peace by allowing us moments of quiet reflection. The white, silent nature of the season moves the artist toward a meditation on the majesty of nature and color, and on the representation of light and touch and the subtlety of each.
The wintry glow and dreamlike tranquility of the season speak directly to the artists and guide them at work. The tap of the maker’s hammer accentuates solitude. The hands that make are also the open hands of gratitude and generosity. The flame inspiring cozy contentment also welds feelings to form.
“Ideas of a natural world that resonate are still intensely powerful, often gorgeous”
GRETCHEN EWERT
Allison and Ivan Barnett of Patina Gallery honor the golden era of handmade contemporary art. ‘Tis the Gold•en Season opens at Patina on Friday, December 15, 2017, and continues to the new year.
The artists in the exhibition earn this special status because they have the uncommon sensitivity to understand that a piece art offers a person the gift of a soul-stirring moment.
“I know my jewelry pieces mean a lot to people, the pieces are meaningful because they are so important, such a keepsake”
PAT FLYNN
While at its essence this exhibition is an exploration of organic surfaces, tonal progressions and rich materials, the artists offer a bigger gift in our uncertain times. They offer a message that is as timeless as it is priceless – to slow down, reflect, hope and embrace the beauty all around us.
In the spirit of generosity, Patina will give a portion of sales to hurricane victims through Americares.
