18K yellow gold, emerald, Tibetan turquoise, Tahitian pearl, Australian opal - Circa 1996
This piece from Jeff Wise was created in 1996 and is a marvel considering the soldering complexity in a pre-laser era of jewelry making. Australian opal and Tibetan turquoise are set in textured gold and comprise the central element, which moves freely inside a gold wire cage. Jeff Wise shares, "This 'masterworks' kind of piece would have been made solely by me at that time. The rectangular faceted green stone is an untreated emerald. The pearl is a natural colored baroque Tahitian, the turquoise is untreated Tibetan also with Australian opal." The baroque Tahitian pearl, as well as the richly colored emerald are set in gold and dangle from an element which is part of the threaded signature clasp itself. Quite an opulent treasure, whose museum-worthy majesty is truly a work of art to behold.
