Betsy says of Clutch, "There's a play on words here. Clutch as a group of baby birds, or clutch as a verb indicating predatory behavior. Is the clutch tender or threatening? This is a look at vulnerability in all things. The softness of the wide eyed doll face against the body form of a predator with a human looking rabbit in hand created a feeling of being more connected to the potential bird of prey than to the victim. Look at the face and body of the bird. I still don't know if the bunny in his hand is dinner or is being rescued. That interpretation is open. I love that. We all have out own perspective on our actions, we all have vulnerability, and we all play roles of both prey and predator." "
