Oxidized sterling silver, 24K yellow gold, lapis, 5 white (G) diamonds vsi, 0.05 cts total weight
A powerful expression, this daring brooch by Peter Schmid exudes pattern and light from every angle. Creating an enticing work of art in both opulence and illustration, high karat gold is fused to oxidized silver, emulating the sensuous form of a mythical serpent in the metal. In swirls of movement, the muscle travels to the center of the piece as if rising to the depth of the cerulean sky. In the center lies a pool of rich lapis lazuli and rare white diamonds sprinkled across the mysterious form. Schmid's pendant may be worn with the bails adhered to the back of the piece, or may be adhered to a chain or cable, which possess the male endings of the vario clasp. Wearing either way will allow one to show the pendant with serpent facing in both directions.
