Across an elegant cuff of darkened silver, Peter Schmid of Atelier Zobel creates a stunning expression of adornment. On its surface, the masterful maker embellishes its form with squares of high karat gold, nicely balanced with speckled fragments of gold that echo this lustrous composition. Added to the piece is an 19th century brass Ashanti weight wrapped in a golden form. The placement of the weight is an exquisite exercise of space and proportion that Schmid undeniably masters. On the wrist, this petite expression becomes a dynamic statement and a comforting fit. Quite a treasure to behold.
