Betsy imbues her creations with personality. "Walter is just a good guy who is innocent and filled with the joy of being" says Betsy. "He was a labor of love in the placement of the beads he wears. After a trip to the Tucson Gem Show and the excitement of new supplies, I wanted a predominantly coral piece with some mother of pearl. The cylindrical coral beads on Walter are hand cut and from Afghanistan. The vendor I purchased them from told me of how beads were often broken while being formed and, as such, these were all the more precious."
