Oxidized sterling silver
Masterfully, we have a composition of both shapely elegance and that of refined, architectonic grace. Maker, Valentine Dubois, bestows to us a vision of sculptural artistry. A plane of oxidized sterling silver is carefully formed into a character of both space and proportion. As if folding a cotton sheet, Dubois coaxes the silver into a bi-fold to then eloquently adhere silver pins to its frame to preserve its shape. From there, she attends to its open body and in turn stirs our curiosity and wonder. Upon its surface, the smooth metal glistens upon the touch of light. Delicately hung on a double wrapped, silver cord, Dubois' piece may cleverly be worn with the metal fold upright or directed downwards. Reminiscent of a bell, this artist seeks to chime in the hearts of all who adorn her work of art.
